In this time of partisan confusion and protracted economic woe, this venerable ceremony will be a rare ray of hope that things in America are – as ever- only destined to improve. After all, Hollywood was a leading force in getting us through the Dirty Thirties and the War to End All Wars. So, let’s cheer on our heroes and hope for a bright new tomorrow, as only Hollywood can promise us!

Showdown In L.A.

On February 24, 2013, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present the Academy Awards (known informally as “The Oscars”). This series of awards will spotlight excellence in many fields associated with the science of motion pictures. Of course, all eyes will be on the ultimate prize: the awarding of the Oscar for Best Picture of 2012. The ceremony itself will take place at the Dolby Theater, located in scenic downtown Hollywood. Veteran funnyman and creator of “Family Guy” and “The Cleveland Show”, Seth MacFarlane, will be your host on this magical evening. This marks the very first time that MacFarlane has been associated with this event.

This particular edition of the Academy Awards will not only feature Seth MacFarlane taking his very first bow as host of these legendary events. It will also feature a brief but memorable ceremony in which one of filmdom’s most legendary ongoing franchises, the James Bond series, will be honored. These money spinning giants of the industry, as helmed by legendary producer Albert Broccoli and his heirs and successors, have made millions of dollars, and the franchise itself remains one of the most profitable film making enterprises ever unleashed. This tribute to one of the giants of the modern international market place is sure to remind viewers everywhere of the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise. Fans of motion picture magic and its financial rewards will be pleased to note that the series is slated to remain ongoing.

Making Magical Movie Memories

All of the relevant nominations for the 85th annual Academy Awards are scheduled to be announced on January 10, 2013, at 5:30 (Pacific Standard Time). This series of announcements will be issued by new host Seth MacFarlane, in conjunction with actress Emma Stone. This announcement, in itself, will be a bit of a break with standard Academy Award tradition. It seems that this announcement will mark one of the few times in Academy Awards history that such a joint proclamation of prospective nominations has been issued by an Oscars host and a broadcast partner. Although rare, this has actually occurred several times in the past, the last time involving Charlton Heston in 1972.
At any event, the Academy Awards ceremony will be a gala night of established stars and upcoming new giants of the industry. All of the nation’s most popular and influential stars, directors, producers, special effects wizards, and bankrolling big wheels are scheduled to be in attendance. This years’ bumper crop of blockbusters will be well represented. Such films as “ Lincoln “, “ Zero Dark Thirty “, “ Argo “, “ Les Miserables “, and “ Silver Linings Playbook “, have touched the collective hearts of an entire generation of Americans, and stand to be recognized for their merits.

Constellation Of The Stars

Of course, the Academy Awards would hardly stand in the position of awe and world wide respect that it currently commands if it did not promise a gala night of peer recognition for the many stars who made these films the unforgettable experiences that each and every one of them constitute for an audience of millions. Such giants of the silver screen as Joaquin Phoenix, Daniel Day Lewis, John Hawkes, Denzel Washington, and Hugh Jackman are slated to stand in readiness to receive the ultimate Academy Award: Best Actor of 2013.

Fans of female actors will also be in for a very special treat, as the Academy will recognize the efforts of leading actresses such as Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence,

Naomi Watts, Quvenzhane Wallis, and Emmanuelle Riva. Indeed, lovers of the silver screen will long remember and treasure this latest edition of the legendary Academy Awards. Tune in on February 24, 2013, and make sure to cheer on all of your favorite actors, directors, and films. They will need your love, devotion, support, and prayers to make it through the ultimate test. So, don’t miss a moment!
